For applications from September 1, 2026, a single student outside Quebec must show CAN$23,448 for one year of living costs, plus first-year tuition and travel. At about QAR 2.57 per Canadian dollar, living costs alone come to roughly QAR 60,300. Each accompanying family member adds more.
Evidence of a reliable source of money convertible to Canadian dollars: a parent’s or sponsor’s letter of undertaking with their financial documents, a scholarship letter, investments, rental income, or bank statements. IRCC now asks for six months of statements showing where the deposits come from. Add proof of tuition already paid.

Often, yes. Under the Abu Dhabi checklist a spouse can apply for an open work permit or a visitor visa, minor children may need a study permit or visitor visa, and dependants aged 18 to 22 need their own study permit with a letter of acceptance.
