Does work experience in Qatar count for Express Entry?

Yes. Paid, skilled work in TEER 0, 1, 2 or 3 from the last 10 years counts as foreign work experience, with at least one year continuous for the Federal Skilled Worker Program. It earns up to 50 CRS points, but only when combined with strong language results or Canadian experience.

How do I get a Qatar police clearance for Canada?

Residents with a Qatar ID apply through the Metrash portal with the Ministry of Interior form, and the clearance goes by email straight to IRCC. You can also apply in person, or through a representative with power of attorney, at the Criminal Evidences and Information Department or a Qatari embassy.

What if I lived in Qatar on a visitor visa first?

Qatar issues police clearances only to residents with an ID card number. For time spent on visitor status before becoming a resident, IRCC asks for a written explanation giving the dates of your visitor status, plus a copy of your passport showing your entry stamp to Qatar.

Can my end-of-service gratuity count toward proof of funds?

Only once it has been paid into your account. IRCC counts funds you can access when you apply and when the visa is issued, shown in bank letters with six-month average balances. Money you have not received yet, or money borrowed from anyone, does not count.
