What documents do I need for a Canada visit visa from Bangladesh?

Besides the IRCC online checklist, the Singapore visa office asks applicants from Bangladesh for a copy of their birth certificate, a marriage certificate if married, a travel itinerary with provisional flight and hotel bookings, 4 months of bank statements and a completed Family Information Form (IMM 5707).

  • Employed: a signed original letter on company letterhead granting leave, with your position, salary and date of hire.
  • Self-employed: business registration showing your shares, business licence and financial documents such as profit and loss statements.
  • Student: an original letter from your school approving your absence and saying when you must return.
  • Visiting family or friends: an invitation letter, proof of your relationship, and a copy of your host’s status in Canada.

How much bank balance do I need for a Canada visit visa from Bangladesh?

IRCC does not set a fixed amount for visitors. The officer checks whether your funds cover the whole trip and whether the money looks like your own normal savings. The Singapore instructions ask for statements or a bank book covering the past 4 months, plus other proof such as pay slips, pension or investments.

Large recent deposits with no explanation often make officers doubt funds. If you sold land or received a gift, attach the deed or a short explanation with evidence.

What if my relative in Canada or my parent pays for the trip?

Include a letter signed by the person paying, a copy of their passport or photo ID, and a bank certificate showing they have enough funds. Describe how they are related to you. The Singapore instructions say these documents must be dated within 3 months of the date you submit the application.

Where do I give biometrics in Bangladesh?

At a Canada visa application centre in Dhaka, Chittagong or Sylhet. Apply online first, pay the CAD 85 biometrics fee with your application, then book an appointment when the biometrics instruction letter arrives. Biometrics given in the last 10 years may still be valid.
