How do I get a police clearance from Bangladesh for Canada?

Register on the Bangladesh Police online PCC portal, fill in the form, upload an attested scan of your passport information page and pay BDT 1,500. Police verification is done at your present address, which must be the permanent or emergency address in your passport.

  • If your machine-readable passport shows no address, upload your NID, birth registration or ward councillor certificate, attested by a first-class gazetted officer.
  • Check your status by SMS: PCC S and your reference number to 26969.
  • Whoever collects the certificate brings your passport copy or application copy, plus an authorization letter if it is not you.

How do I get a Bangladesh police clearance if I live abroad?

You can still apply through the online portal. Upload a copy of your passport information page attested by the Bangladesh embassy or high commission where you live, and an authorization letter naming the person in Bangladesh who will collect the certificate, with their national ID number.

If your passport was issued or re-issued abroad and you are now in Bangladesh, upload the page with your latest arrival stamp.

What does IRCC need from the certificate?

IRCC asks for the scanned original police clearance certificate showing the seal and signature. A photocopy of a copy is not enough. Order it close to when IRCC asks for it, and keep the original safe.

Where do I do the Canada immigration medical in Bangladesh?

Only with a panel physician on IRCC’s list. For Bangladesh, IRCC lists the IOM Migration Health Assessment Centre, Green Crescent Health Services and Mercury Medical (formerly Wahab Medical) in Dhaka. Bring your passport and any medical instructions from IRCC.

Do Bangla documents need translation?

Yes. Any document not in English or French must come with a certified translation. Keep the Bangla original with the translation, and make sure names are spelled the same as in your passport. If the translator is not a certified member of a translation organization, IRCC also requires an affidavit from the translator.
