Does IRCC hold FSW-specific draws?

Very rarely. The table above lists any round IRCC labelled as Federal Skilled Worker. If it is empty or old, that is accurate: in 2025 and 2026 IRCC invited FSW candidates mainly through general and category-based rounds. This is general information from IRCC’s published rounds, not legal advice.

What are my options as an FSW candidate outside Canada?

Three realistic ones: qualify for a category draw (French at NCLC 7 is the most accessible), pursue a provincial nomination for 600 points, or raise your base score with language and education. From November 3, 2026 a job offer in a high-wage occupation also adds 50 to 100 points. This is general information from IRCC’s published rounds, not legal advice.

Who gets invited

Program-specific draws for candidates eligible under the Federal Skilled Worker Program, the route for skilled workers with foreign experience who meet the 67-point grid.

Why the cut-offs sit where they do

FSW-only draws have been very rare. Candidates who qualify only under FSW mostly compete in general rounds, which have also been rare, or through a category such as French or healthcare if they fit one. That is why FSW candidates outside Canada often need a provincial nomination.
