IRCC tracker shows "combinedArtRequiredDocuments.header" for two months. Is IRCC asking me for documents?

Situation: a visitor visa applicant from Algeria gave biometrics in mid-August and has heard nothing since. The IRCC application status tracker shows the text "combinedArtRequiredDocuments.header" in the Next steps box and has shown it for about two months. He was supposed to travel in September to visit his sister.

Is this a request for documents, a glitch, or something wrong with the file?

That text is not a request for documents. It is a label the status tracker failed to translate, and many applicants have been seeing it for months. It is a display bug, not something on your file.

What actually matters is the messages section of your IRCC account, not the tracker. If IRCC needs anything from you, a letter appears there and you get an email saying you have a new message. If there is nothing there since your biometrics, nothing is owed and your application is simply in the queue.

Waiting since August with no update on a visitor visa from North Africa is, unfortunately, normal at the moment. Check the processing time for your country on canada.ca, and keep an eye on the messages tab rather than the tracker.
